Welcome Aboard
Owners Wade and Amy Broughman, and Al Vogt
Welcome aboard! Come enjoy the premier diving that the coast
of North Carolina has to offer!
Experience the beauty and history of sunken ships on a diver-friendly and
professionally staffed dive vessel.
Interact with large marine life such as Atlantic Sand tiger sharks,
stingrays, dolphins, and turtles. The
warm waters of the Gulf Stream are home to many exotic fishes, including the
indo-pacific lionfish, and also offer abundant opportunities for spear fishing
and lobstering. Photographic and video
prospects abound with vast aquatic life and colorful corals found on and around
the wrecks.

Prepaid Dive Punch Cards!
Enjoy diving at 2007 prices and below! This is a great deal for Morehead City diving. Purchase a series of prepaid dives at discounted prices to use whenever you like. Offered in packages of five or ten days of diving (day defined as two offshore dives, weather permitting), punches can be used for a single day, or for a weekend of diving. Both cards are priced below our 2008 walk on rate, however the ten day card is our best bargain. Couple of caveats: cards expire at the end of our dive season, October 31, and are nontransferable. They do not include the fuel surcharge, if any, crew tips, or extended range fees, and we cannot refund any unused punches. Still a great value for the 2008 dive season! Call Captain Amy (757-617-2208) for more information.

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig
Upon returning from her annual physical and rubdown in Baltimore, the Mutiny will once again take up residence at Olympus Dive Center, 713 Shepard Street in Morehead City. Our thanks to George and Bobby Purifoy, along with the rest of the Olympus staff, for their generous hospitality. Our extended tenure means that we will once again be able to enjoy the convenience of Olympus’s fill station, located right there on the dock. Ample parking is available on site and at the city lot located at 9th Street free of charge.
New Calendar Page!

Crew News
Look for SSI Instructor, OUPV captain, professional mermaid, and Mutiny dive master Malena Sharkey on the cover of the November 2007 Diver magazine! Within the magazine is a grand article called “Siren of the Sea,” chronicling the seldom seen and little known activities of the mermaid frequently observed following the Mutiny from wreck to wreck. Also mentioned in the article is a quality scuba outfit called Atlantic Beach Diving Services. Give it a look!

Our crew continues to sharpen our talents to better serve your diving needs. Captain Al Vogt spent some of his winter down time becoming a qualified NAUI instructor. Able to certify anyone from Open Water to Assistant Instructor (and any specialty in between), Al will soon have his technical qualifications as well. Check out the “Training” page for details.

Also on the training side, Captain Amy Broughman and SSI instructor and dive master Bob Minnick earned their PSI ratings (Visual Cylinder Inspector and Eddy Current Technician), along with Equipment Service Technician and Nitrox Gas Blending credentials through TDI. We are now able to visually inspect your scuba cylinders, O2 clean your regulators and bottles, and blend nitrox mixes up to 100% O2. Many thanks to Bob Minnick and Malena Sharkey for lending us their dive shop (Chesapeake Bay Diving, www.chesapeakebaydiving.com) and compressor for instruction purposes. The guy who trains the Mutiny crew and keeps them on their collective toes? Gary Miller with AquaMarine Training (www.aquamarinetraining.com). Check him out!

We look forward to diving with everyone again soon! Thank you again for your patronage!!
